【How-to】What properties of a beam affect flexural rigidity
Flexural stiffness, or flexural rigidity, is given by EI, where E is Young’s modulus and I is the second moment of inertia. Torsional stiffness, or torsional rigidity, is given by GJ, where G is the shear modulus, sometimes denoted as μ, and J is the polar second moment of inertia.
