Old simple cars, you take the fuel line of and crank the engine, if the fuel flows out you have fuel there. To see if the fuel goes from there to the sparks, take one off and see if it is dry or wet with fuel. The latter is valid for fuel injection, too. Or you can spray some easy start on the air intake.
